On the occasion of Centenary of the El Salto Hydroelectric Power Plant, Villalba de la Sierra celebrates a full cultural, educational and tourist program during the months of June and July, organized by the Villalba de la Sierra Town Hall, with the collaboration of Naturgy, UCLM, Club Deportivo Villalba de la Sierra, Rewilding Spain, the Serranía de Cuenca Natural Park and Nuestros Espacios Protegidos.
Talks on engineering, energy and heritage; hiking and ethnographic routes through places like the Carrera Piedra del Yunque, the Cortados de Villalba or the Camino Natural del Júcar; photographic exhibitions; documentary film screenings; guided tours of the power plant itself; workshops for all audiences and outdoor activities —including a water trail with canoes in El Estrecho— will bring those who live in and those who visit the territory closer to the history, nature and heritage of the Serranía de Cuenca.
An initiative to commemorate 100 years of energy, memory and connection with the environment.
