This Circular route of more than 180 kilometres and a cumulative positive gradient of 4000 metres will take you through the 14 charming municipalities that make up the Los Serranos Commonwealth in Cuenca.

But this journey is much more than just a sporting challenge; it is also a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful Cuenca mountain range with its impressive landscapes and picturesque villages. The proximity to Cuenca, less than 50 kilometres away, makes it an ideal option for tourists visiting the city to venture out to discover these remote and wonderful areas. In addition, you can reach the route by crossing the area of The Palancares and Dead Land, adding even more excitement to your trip.

Discover Charming Villages

The “Los Serranos” Route will take you through a series of charming villages, each with its own unique history and heritage. Some of the villages you will encounter on your way are: The villages of Alcala de la Vega, Boniches, Salvacañete, Valdemoro de la Sierra, Pajaroncillo, Zafrilla, Huerta del Marquesado, and Tejadillos, among others. The terrain of the route mostly consists of paths in good condition, although you will find some sections with loose stones that will challenge your rolling ability.

In each village, you will find information panels detailing the characteristics of the town, its history and heritage. You will also have access to the route map and its profile, allowing you to know at all times where you are. In addition, along the way, wooden signs at every intersection and posts will guide you precisely, ensuring that you follow the route without problems.

An Epic Challenge

This route, marked by the Mancomunidad Los Serranos de Cuenca, is suitable for cycling in almost its entirety. However, keep in mind that completing it in a single day is an epic challenge which is only accessible to very experienced cyclists. Therefore, it may be preferable to divide the route into several days, depending on your preferences and level of experience. But remember that you will be venturing into remote and isolated places, with minimal telephone coverage (Movistar only).
