This trail gives you the opportunity to complement your visit to the Cuervo River Natural Monument, taking you to the San Felipe Muela Viewpoint, where you can marvel at spectacular views of Rincón del Cuervo.

The route begins by sharing a section with the CU-SL 14 Trail, although in a direction opposite to that recommended for the Cuervo River Birth TrailYou will cross the river via a picturesque bridge located at the end of the poplar grove and the picnic area.
Explore the diversity of the Cuervo River Birth Trail
Shortly after the fork, the PR Trail and the SL Trail go their separate ways. A few hundred metres from this split, you will discover a calcareous bog, a grassy formation that is often waterlogged, encouraging the accumulation of organic matter under its green surface. Here, you can observe fascinating plant species.
Options and wonders
A little further up, you will find a detour on the path that will take you to Covacho and from there, a short distance away, you will reach the esplanade and the source of the river.
If you decide to continue along the main route, you will cross a wooded area that is home to Scots pines, junipers, black pines, oaks, hawthorns, blackthorns, junipers and more. To reach the Muela, The trail will lead you through an opening in the rock that will take you to the top, where you will find gentle reliefs and exokarst formations, such as sinkholes and lapiaz. A few kilometers away, you will reach the Crow's Viewpoint, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of landscapes that have been more or less modified by human activity.
Descent and return
The descent is made by a steep slope through a thick forest of Scots pines, with the presence of holly. Finally, you will arrive again at the parking lot of the Nacimiento del Río Cuervo. This part of the descent shares part of the route with the PR-CU Trail 79 San Blas-San Felipe-Río Cuervo.
