The Devil's Window Viewpoint: a magical place

In the Serranía de Cuenca, there are several places that are considered essential, and this is the case of Ventano del Diablo which serves as viewpoint over the Júcar river canyon, in an enclave of great beauty that is undoubtedly worth visiting.

The viewpoint is located excavated in the limestone rock, and from it you can enjoy spectacular views of the rock walls that the river has gradually left behind, the forests of the Serranía de Cuenca and the town of Villalba de la Sierra.

History and curiosities

The Ventano del Diablo Viewpoint was formed millions of years ago, when the limestone rock was eroded by the action of wind and water. Has a height of about 20 meters and a width of about 10 meters.

But with that special name, we can already know that not all the charm lies in the view that this place gives us, or in the history and characteristics of its formation, since, as you well imagine, it is also fruit of legends, which in this case say that the Devil's Window was the place where witchcraft actions were carried out where the devil appeared and threw anyone who looked out of the window into the ravine.

How to get

The Mirador de la Ventana del Diablo is located in the municipality of Villalba de la Sierra, in the province of Cuenca.

The easiest way to get there is by car, following the CM-211 highway to the town of Villalba de la Sierra, from there continue towards Uña, until we see the parking lot on the side of the road, you can't miss it.
