Uña Travertine Viewpoint

An ancient waterfall

A short distance from the town of Uña, there is this point called the Mirador del Travertino, a place that offers you a spectacular frontal view of the travertine waterfall that in the past served as a closure for the Uña Lagoon, where it poured its waters into the Júcar River.

Currently this waterfall is inactive due to changes in the water regime of Laguna de Uña. These were caused by the diversion of water from the Júcar River to the Villalba de la Sierra hydroelectric plant. Currently, the viewpoint continues to be a reference point to admire the beauty of every corner that surrounds Laguna de Uña.

How to Get to the Travertine Viewpoint

To get to the Mirador del Travertino, you must take a detour from the CM-2015 highway, located about 250 meters to the right when leaving Uña in the direction of Cuenca. Here you can park your vehicle. Once you take the detour, about 40 meters away, you will find a path that forks to the right, taking you to the viewpoint.

It is important to mention that access can be complicated for people with reduced mobility, so caution is recommended.
