The Beginning of a Natural Adventure
Your exciting adventure begins in the lower part of the charming village of Marquisate Garden. Leaving the village and Crossing the Laguna River, you will see a sign indicating the two possible directions for your journey. It is recommended to take the direction towards “La Herrería”, which is reached after about fifty minutes of a gentle descent along a farm road. As you continue along this route, you will have a continuous view of the plain and the river, elements of great importance in the past for the inhabitants of the village. To the left of the path, you can admire slopes and cliffs covered with oaks and gall oaks throughout the entire route.
Exploring the Dehesa de las Covatillas
Before reaching La Herrería, a building on the right that is in the municipality of Campillos Sierra, turn left onto a bridle path that follows a cattle trail. As you continue along the path, the tree vegetation becomes denser as you go deeper into the area. Covatillas meadows. Here, you will see Dense areas of pines and oaks interspersed with small clearings. After about thirty minutes of walking accompanied by the sounds of the forest, you will reach the Fuente del Royo.
