The Charm of Carrascosa de la Sierra
This path takes you through the municipality of Carrascosa de la Sierra, a jewel of the Serranía Alta de Cuenca. Throughout your tour, you will delight in the beauty of two of the most notable gorges in the province.
Spectacular Viewpoints
From the Piedra del Águila viewpoint, you will enjoy views of the Hoz Somera, a unique sickle that allows light to filter in, creating a beautiful riverside forest inside. Then he Mirador de Rocines will offer you views of the inhospitable Hoz de Tragavivos, where the Guadiela River meanders deeply. From here, you can also see the majestic Chincha Molino Dam and the impressive Pebble Strait.
Nature in its Splendor
Throughout the entire trail, you will witness magical landscapes, limestone rock sculptures created by the crystalline waters of the mountain range, and corners that have remained largely unchanged due to the scarce human presence.
A Rewarding Challenge
This linear trail can be a little demanding, but the rewards are worth it. It connects the town of Carrascosa de la Sierra with the village of La Herrería de Santa Cristina and the Infiernillo Power Plant. It begins in the center of Carrascosa de la Sierra, crosses a wash house and follows the traditional path of Santa Cristina, sharing part of the route of PR 01 of Hoz Somera.
A round-trip
After crossing the Barranco de la Hoz Somera through the Puente de Las Tobillas, a leafy and humid area, you will begin a climb that surrounds La Ceja before descending towards the first houses of La Herrería de Santa Cristina. Then, you will head back to Carrascosa de la Sierra, facing a steep climb from the beginning.
